Senior Director, Digital Product Management

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Director, Digital Product Management, to join NAF’s Product & Innovation Team – a creative and collaborative team at NAF!

The Senior Director, Digital Product Management operates as both a cross-functional leader and an individual contributor on a small, but growing, number of products across the entire lifecycle. The primary product this person will work on is our recently launched free platform KnoPro (knopro.org), contributing directly and with high-level strategy, with the possibility of taking on other projects and products as they are greenlit. KnoPro empowers high school students to solve real-world problems, build in-demand skills, win cash, and boost their resumes and college applications. The key KPIs for this product are focused on healthy user growth, impact, and satisfaction. We have conducted successful pilots, had a go-to-market launch, and now are beginning to grow and scale across all 50 states.

We’re looking for someone with excellent product design and technical knowledge (a “generalist PM”), a strong ability to communicate and manage products and people, and who is deeply committed to and motivated by doing work that matters.

The core responsibilities for this role will be to lead planning, defining, executing, evaluating and improving go-to-pilot and go-to-market strategies for tech-enabled work-based-learning products for high school students. The person in this role will also contribute directly to product design and development through UX writing, prototyping, interaction design, backlog management as well as conduct market, quantitative, and qualitative user research and usability testing. They will regularly synthesize product data into product insights, personas, and user stories, and use them to articulate requirements, roadmaps and to collaboratively create product marketing strategy.

The ideal candidate is comfortable acting as a leader by giving direction in planning, implementing, and evaluating department goals, milestones, and reporting. They will handle contracts, district privacy agreements and legal terms, accessibility audits, mobile optimization, and other product-technical areas. They will also support grant reports and data requests, while keeping the project on budget.

This position currently has 1-2 direct reports, and reports to the Vice President, Product & Innovation (Head of Product). This is a fully remote role, with travel expected approximately 5 times per year.

Preferred Experience

– 7-10 years direct experience building digital products, including mobile, in close collaboration with engineering, design, and marketing–from initial concept all the way through to post-launch optimization and growth, with a portfolio that reflects increasing skill, responsibility, and expertise

– 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

– Strong understanding of software engineering and web development concepts, analytics programs (Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.), prototyping tools, software testing and quality, and agile methodologies

– Excellent analytical and business skills, and customer empathy. Able to elicit, interpret and translate customer problems into viable solutions that deliver customer value

– Strong understanding of UX/UI, workflow design and specifications, product design conventions and frameworks, and usability (and accessibility) testing

– Skilled at planning, leading, documenting, and debriefing design sprints

– Highly skilled at managing product roadmaps and backlogs with ability to clearly communicate and document all aspects of the product management process

– Strong communications and project management skills; ideally with experience using tools like Asana, Lucid, Figma, and Miro to work on multiple cross-team projects at once

– Must be a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable operating in ambiguity or with incomplete data

– Preferred experience working in a start-up, or on a team that requires the wearing of many hats at once, as well as comfort with rapid feedback and iteration loops

– Strongly prefer experience with K12 education and ed-tech, or youth/workforce training

– Basic to intermediate SQL skills preferred (for data analysis and reporting), if possible, but not required
