This successful group constantly gives back to the school and community. They provide guest speakers, mentoring, field trips, business and technical skill workshops, paid internships, as well as serving on our STEM advisory board. These work-based learning experiences empower students who rise to the occasion in obtaining high-wage jobs upon high school completion. Other WBL activities are powered by large industry partners like Cisco, Akamai, and Information Technology Services, which supports the Miami-Dade Public School district’s IT infrastructure. Miami Lakes Educational Center AOIT promotes project-based learning that is fully supported through this incredible alumni engagement to ensure students are more than college and career ready. They are ‘future ready’!
