A student director was elected to oversee the student advisory board. Two class representatives from each grade were elected. These nine students meet to discuss the needs of the students as presented to them by their classmates, as well as to disseminate information from the Academy of Finance Advisory Board meetings with community partners. The Board oversees the students and enjoys hearing feedback from them and sharing outstanding projects presented at the meetings. Advisory Board members have become more involved with students in the classroom, such as when they need judging for projects or information about special topics. The students are developing a business plan for a student-run credit union in collaboration with a community partner and hope to implement an on-site bank in the upcoming school year. Students feel represented and know they have a voice in their educational experience.
