Take a Trip with Us to Keiser University
In preparation for College Signing Day on May 1st, a national day when students make the important decision of which college to attend, one Broward County school wanted to give their students a firsthand look into university life. On March 4th, junior and senior students from the NAF Academy of Finance Honors program at Deerfield Beach High School visited Keiser University Flagship Campus in Palm Beach, Florida, for a tour. Keiser University is a private, not-for-profit university boasting career-focused degrees, small class sizes, and scheduling flexibility to take classes on campus or online at any of their 21 satellite campuses throughout Florida.
“I enjoyed the university atmosphere; Keiser has so many amazing opportunities.”
Sheila C.
Upon their visit, over 40 NAF Academy of Finance students listened to presentations from two dynamic university professors on Business Administration and Finance, met with on-campus college students, toured the newly renovated campus and dorms. In addition, Jacquelyn Desilets, Senior Admissions Officer of the university, provided an interactive presentation on the application process, scholarships, living on campus, and internships. Students especially liked hearing about the university’s high 89% job placement program after college.
“It was remarkable seeing how passionate their professors were about teaching and preparing their students for their careers; there are real opportunities here.”
Joanna Baez-Etienne
Earning a degree is essential; however, your ability to match a career with a degree will extend your earning potential. NAF Academy of Finance students know this well; each student has researched where the job outlook will be in the next several years and they will be selecting careers that align with that outlook.
Frank Pizzo, Lead teacher of the NAF Academy of Finance thanked his outstanding students, club officers, and chaperones for an excellent field trip. Again, demonstrating that it takes a community to raise a child.
