Students at the Northwest Career & Technical Academy recently had a chance to practice their interviewing skills with local business executives.

The event took place March 13 and 14. The students honed their interviewing skills for both college and for the work force.

Also on March 14, students from the school interviewed for 6 simmer internship positions with the local construction company that built the school.

The Northwest Career & Technical Academy is part of the National Academy Foundation, an acclaimed network of career-themed academies that open doors for under-served high school students to viable careers.

NAF academies usually focus on one of five career themes: finance, hospitality and tourism, information technology, engineering and health sciences.

The Northwest Career & Technical Academy first opened for the 2007-2008 school year. It offers programs in ten areas. The school is located on West Tropical Parkway.
