In Total, More Than 200 NAF Academies Earn Model Level for Delivering High-Quality Educational Experiences for High School Students
(April 22, 2022 – New York, NY) – One hundred eighty-one academies in the NAF network have reached Katherine Blasik Distinguished level and in total, more than 200 have reached Model level on NAF’s annual assessment – delivering high-quality educational experiences for high school students across the nation. NAF’s annual assessment measures an academy’s strengths and challenges in implementing NAF’s results-driven educational design, that prepares students for success in college and careers. Site visits, hosted virtually this year, were conducted to verify academy scores.
A subset of these high performing academies reaches additional thresholds to earn Katherine Blasik Distinguished level – NAF’s highest level of achievement. One hundred eighty-one academies in the NAF network have reached Katherine Blasik Distinguished level, with 157 of these academies having reached this level more than once and 24 being new to the roster.
NAF Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Dughi, said, “In the midst of the uncertainty of the past two years, we are blown away by our educators and students who persevered to achieve successful results. NAF’s annual assessment helps academies assess their progress and increase their alignment to NAF’s criteria, reflecting national standards developed by researchers and members from similar career and pathway organizations.

NAF has grown from one NAF Academy of Finance in New York City to hundreds of academies across the country focusing on growing industries including finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences; and support programs of study that are aligned with the National Career Clusters Framework.
During the 2021-22 school year, over 120,000 students attended 618 NAF academies across 35 states, plus DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
