About the Role
Join the Philanthropy team at NAF, a mission driven organization where we are working together to prepare the next generation of innovative leaders! The Development Associate plays a critical role on NAF’s Philanthropy team, which is responsible for raising the funds to sustain our programs. The core of this role will be in gift processing, reporting, stewardship and prospect management to bolster the institutional advancement goals of our team. The Development Associate assists a range of departmental operations, including processing incoming donations and gift acknowledgements, data management and reporting from within the fundraising CRM, and organizing documentation and filing for grants management and institutional gifts
As a member of a deadline-driven, high-performing team, the Development Associate will leverage excellent communication and organizational skills and confidently liaise with NAF stakeholders at all levels. In addition to gift processing and data integrity, the Development Associate will assist with prospect research and management, draft gift acknowledgment letters and prepare research and reports in advance of funder meetings.
This position will report to Manager, Development Operations. This is a fully remote role, with travel expected approximately 1-2 times per year.
Preferred Education/Training
High School/GED
Preferred Experience
0-2 years relevant experience, a nonprofit/fundraising environment is ideal.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills
- Desire to learn and build fundraising skills.
- Detail-oriented with an interest in data
- Clear and concise spoken/written communication. Experience with writing, editing and data entry in a professional setting.
- Confidence building relationships and liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to take initiative and tackle new projects.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and pivot as necessary.
- Proficiency with donor databases, such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project management software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
