Manager, Digital Marketing
Ever since I was little, I’ve loved talking to people. From talking with strangers while running errands with my parents, to talking with my friends at school, I’ve always enjoyed a good conversation. That’s why when deciding on a major at Michigan State University, I knew it had to be in the College of Communications Arts & Sciences. During my senior year while studying advertising, I interned at my first education-focused non-profit, the Michigan Association of School Boards. Before this internship, I was planning to move to Chicago after graduation to find a marketing job at a corporate agency. But after seeing the impact a focused non-profit can make on schools and most importantly, students’ lives, I knew I wanted to use my marketing experience for advocacy vs. sales.
Even though my career focus had changed, I still found myself in the corporate world doing digital marketing for multiple real estate developers for several years after graduation. In 2017, I made my way back to education advocacy by joining the digital communications team at The Education Trust. Over the next five years, I managed Ed Trust’s social media presence, worked with educators from across the country to lift their voices, and led the digital communications efforts for Ed Trust’s higher education strategy and practice teams. My passion for using digital communications to share the success stories of students across the nation led me to NAF’s mission and team.
