What Problem Do You Want to Solve?

In today’s world, critical thinking and analytical problem solving are predictors of students’ success in college and career. Over the next four weeks, we want to ask students: What Problem Do You Want to Solve?

In our Week 1 Lesson Plan, you’ll use the 5E Instructional Model to engage students around a big question and begin to explore the problem.

In our Week 2 Lesson Plan, continue to use the 5E Instructional Model as students progress to explaining their problems’ causes and solutions. Have them utilize platforms such as Screencastify and Flipgrid to enhance their presentation skills and practice efficient and concise communication with their audience.

In our Week 3 Lesson Plan, continue to use the 5E Instructional Model as students progress to elaborating on their problems’ causes and solutions. Have them use Openshot, PowToon, and Book Creator to produce innovative presentations that readily captivate their audience.

Stay tuned for future lessons where students will conduct research on their big question, share knowledge in group conversations, and present their ideas and findings.
