Founder and Chairman of World Wide Technology and Honoree of NAF’s 15th Annual Benefit, David L. Steward, Announces World Wide Technology Will Become a NAFTrack Certified Hiring Partner

(May 11, 2018 – New York, NY) – NAF is pleased to announce that World Wide Technology (WWT), a market-leading technology solution provider, has pledged their commitment to become a NAFTrack Certified Hiring partner. The announcement was made during NAF’s 15th annual Benefit at the Mandarin Oriental, New York, where WWT Founder and Chairman, David L. Steward, was honored for his commitment to the success of our youth and partnership in transforming what is possible for NAF students in St. Louis.

NAF President, JD Hoye said, “We are excited to have World Wide Technology join NAFTrack Certified Hiring! With World Wide Technology as a partner, we are expanding opportunities for students both in St. Louis and nationwide.”

NAFTrack Certified Hiring is the groundbreaking promise by a growing number of top companies to support eventual job applicants who have completed the NAF course of study and graduated from high school, enrolled in college, and earned NAFTrack Certification. These benefits may include pre-interview and resume support, access to paid internships, and more. NAFTrack Certification is gained through careful assessment of student performance displayed in course exams, projects and internships. WWT joins 15 other NAFTrack partners: Capital One, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, SAP, KPMG, Travelers, Moody’s, AT&T, Cisco, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Juniper Networks, Lenovo, Promontory, Verizon, and Xerox.

“We were so impressed with our first high school interns last year. We were excited to join the movement to provide more students in the St. Louis region with the opportunities they need to build a successful future,” Steward said. “And who knows, that future may be with World Wide Technology.”

One of those interns is Asha Amerson, a senior at Jennings High School Academy of Health Sciences. She shared with the audience at the Benefit her experience of being a NAF student, which included a paid WWT internship. “My education from NAF opened doors that I didn’t know I was able to walk through and set me up for the best future possible,” she said proudly.

This special evening of mixing and mingling brought together students, alumni, educators, and business professionals from America’s top companies to celebrate NAF’s work in the education space, and raised over $1.5 million. Guests had the opportunity to see presentations from NAF students across the country on how they’ve used their NAF academy experience to prepare for college and career. The funds raised will go towards supporting and sustaining NAF’s mission nationally, and contributions will aid in providing programming, training, and materials for NAF teachers, directors, and students throughout the country.

The Honorary Chair of the event was Sanford I. Weill, Founder and Chairman of NAF. Benefit Co-Chairs included Ursula M. Burns, Chairman of VEON Ltd.; Lynne Doughtie, Chairman & Chief Executive Office, KPMG; Barbara Benioff Friedman, Trustee Emerita, Cornell University, Vice Chair of Overseers, Weill Cornell Medical College; John Hinshaw, Board Director & Angel Investor; Jennifer Morgan, Executive Board Member, Global Customer Operation, SAP; Marc C.
