in July.

“NAF is pleased to recognize Justin Yancy of the Texas Business Leadership Council (TBLC) as
the 2021 Citizen of Excellence,” said Tiffany Barfield, Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy. “We
appreciate the TBLC’s focus on critical talent development issues and continuing support to
advance high-quality work-based learning that will result in a strong and diverse pipeline of
future leaders.”

“On behalf of the TBLC, I am honored to accept this recognition from NAF, said Justin Yancy. It
is vital that the business community partner with thought leaders and top-notch providers, such
as NAF, to advance our shared goal of a workforce fully prepared to compete on a global scale.”
During the 2020-21 school year, over 117,000 students attended 619 NAF academies across 34
states, with 10,000 young Texans attending more than 50 NAF academies.

“While not every issue made it across the finish line,” said Texas Senator Beverly Powell, “I am
proud of the progress we made during the 87th Legislature to increase workforce readiness by
enhancing work-based learning opportunities for Texas students. I appreciate the support that
the Texas Leadership Business Council provided and congratulate Justin Yancy on this
recognition from NAF.”
