NAF Corporate Partner Pledges Commitment to High School Students and Career Readiness

July 19, 2016 (New York, NY) – NAF is adding Moody’s Corporation to its growing list of corporate partners supporting NAFTrack Certified Hiring. Uniting with an impressive collection of businesses in America’s fastest-growing industries, including KPMG, Lenovo, and Travelers, Moody’s Corporation will stand alongside NAF to ensure that all high school students have the tools and resources to succeed in college and in their careers.

The Moody’s Foundation has been a corporate partner of NAF’s since 2008 and has contributed time and resources to enhance NAF’s work-based learning program and provide students with real-world opportunities. The Moody’s Foundation has further enabled NAF to provide technical assistance and support to academies, increase the number of internships available to students, as well as offer a mentoring program with Moody’s employees to female students. The additional commitment through NAFTrack Certified Hiring will deepen the partnership and provide invaluable opportunities for students preparing to enter the workforce.

NAFTrack Certified Hiring is the groundbreaking promise by some of America’s top companies to give special consideration to college students and eventual job applicants who complete the NAF course of study and graduate from high school having earned the NAFTrack Certification. These benefits may include, but are not limited to, pre-interview and resume support; priority evaluation among equally qualified applicant pools; and access to paid high school and college internships. NAFTrack Certification is gained through careful assessment of student performance displayed in end-of-course exams, projects, and internships.

“NAF is thrilled to have Moody’s Corporation join our network of NAFTrack Certified Hiring Partners as we continue to work to provide equal opportunity for students all across the country – regardless of socioeconomic background,” said NAF President, JD Hoye. “We look forward to this new phase of our partnership that will make a difference in the lives of our students and help prepare them for success in college and their future careers.”

”The search for new and diverse talent is critical to our ongoing success,” said Salli Schwartz, Global Head of Investor Relations and Communications at Moody’s and NAF Board Member. “We view NAFTrack as an important channel to source candidates who show career readiness, and have exposure to corporate life and a leadership edge.”

The announcement was made as part of NAF Next 2016, NAF’s annual professional development conference that brings together education, business, and community leaders to address some of the biggest challenges facing education and the economy, located this year in Orlando, Florida.
