NAF’s Academy of Health Sciences helps to shape the next generation of health professionals! With career learning and hands-on experiences, students expand their knowledge and skill sets, so that they can thrive in the workforce.
The NAF Approach is simple. NAF Academies of Health Sciences are small learning communities within high schools or districts that support students in igniting their aspirations, growing professional and industry skills, and connecting with industry experts through career-focused curricula and work-based learning:
We provide a rigorous and comprehensive program of study designed to prepare learners with the content knowledge and transferable competencies necessary for success in college and career. Our curricula include: Anatomy, Physiology, Biotechnology, Global Health, and Health Careers Exploration.
Our students build future ready skills and social capital through hands-on learning experiences such as clinical experiences in hospitals, health care simulation days, mentorship, and more while connecting with industry professionals to make informed choices and be successful in their future careers.
“My experience at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center gave me the opportunity to interview physicians and learn about their career paths, as well as exploring and visiting multiple working environments including surgery rooms, emergency rooms, radiology, and more.”
